PROBLOK 50 mg
TerraPROBLOK 50 mg Film-Coated Tablet contains 50 mg of metoprolol tartrate, a cardioselective β1-adrenergic receptor blocker. It selectively blocks β1-receptors in the heart, reducing heart rate, myocardial contractility, and cardiac output, thereby lowering blood pressure and myocardial oxygen demand. It has no intrinsic sympathomimetic or membrane-stabilizing activity. PROBLOK is indicated for the treatment of hypertension, long-term prophylaxis of angina pectoris, cardiac tachyarrhythmias, secondary prevention following myocardial infarction, and as adjunctive therapy in hyperthyroidism. It is also effective in managing palpitations associated with functional heart disease and in migraine prophylaxis. The tablets are white, round, convex, and film-coated for oral administration.

Indications
Treatment of hypertension (alone or with other antihypertensive agents). Long-term prophylaxis of angina pectoris. Management of supraventricular and ventricular tachyarrhythmias. Secondary prevention following myocardial infarction. Adjunctive treatment of hyperthyroidism. Relief of palpitations associated with functional heart disease. Prevention of migraine attacks (migraine prophylaxis).
Precautions
Use with caution in patients with hypotension, heart failure, bradycardia, AV block, or conduction disorders. May mask symptoms of hypoglycaemia in diabetic patients. Contraindicated in patients with severe bronchial asthma or significant bronchospastic disease. Do not discontinue treatment abruptly, as this may worsen angina or precipitate arrhythmias. Caution is required in patients with hepatic impairment, Raynaud's phenomenon, or pheochromocytoma (unless adequately treated with alpha-blockers). Monitor thyroid function in patients with hyperthyroidism, as metoprolol may mask tachycardia. Use cautiously during pregnancy and breastfeeding, and only if the potential benefit outweighs the risk. May impair the ability to drive or operate machinery in some patients. Significant interactions may occur with verapamil, calcium channel blockers, antiarrhythmics, and other antihypertensive medications
