Pratin® 4 mg
NobelPratin® 4 mg is a lipid-lowering medicine that inhibits HMG-CoA reductase, reducing cholesterol synthesis in the liver. It effectively lowers LDL-cholesterol, total cholesterol, triglycerides, Apo-B, and non-HDL cholesterol while increasing HDL-cholesterol. It should be used alongside a cholesterol-lowering diet and healthy lifestyle measures to reduce cardiovascular risk in patients with dyslipidemia.
Ingredients
Active ingredient: Pitavastatin 4 mg (as pitavastatin calcium). Excipients: Lactose monohydrate, low-substituted hydroxypropyl cellulose, magnesium aluminometasilicate, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, magnesium stearate, hypromellose (E464), titanium dioxide (E171), triethyl citrate, and colloidal anhydrous silica.
Indications
Indicated as an adjunct to diet for the treatment of primary hypercholesterolemia (including heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia) and mixed dyslipidemia in adults, adolescents, and children 6 years of age and older when dietary and other non-pharmacological measures are insufficient.
Precautions
Use with caution in patients with renal impairment, hepatic impairment, hypothyroidism, history of muscle disorders or rhabdomyolysis, and excessive alcohol consumption. Monitor liver function tests and creatine kinase if muscle symptoms occur. Avoid use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. The 4 mg dose is not recommended in patients with severe renal impairment or mild-to-moderate hepatic impairment.
