Pratin® 2 mg
NobelPratin® (Pitavastatin) is a lipid-lowering medication that inhibits HMG-CoA reductase, the rate-limiting enzyme in cholesterol synthesis. It reduces LDL-cholesterol, total cholesterol, triglycerides, Apo-B, and non-HDL cholesterol while increasing HDL-cholesterol. It is intended to be used together with an appropriate lipid-lowering diet and lifestyle modifications when these measures alone are insufficient.
Ingredients
Active ingredient: Pitavastatin 2 mg (as pitavastatin calcium). Key excipients: Lactose monohydrate, low-substituted hydroxypropyl cellulose, magnesium aluminometasilicate, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, magnesium stearate, hypromellose (E464), titanium dioxide (E171), triethyl citrate, and colloidal anhydrous silica.
Indications
Indicated for the treatment of primary hypercholesterolemia (including heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia) and mixed dyslipidemia in adults, adolescents, and children aged 6 years and older, as an adjunct to diet when non-pharmacological measures are inadequate.
Precautions
Use with caution in patients with renal or hepatic impairment, history of muscle disorders, hypothyroidism, or excessive alcohol consumption. Monitor for muscle pain or weakness, liver function abnormalities, and elevated creatine kinase. Contraindicated during pregnancy and breastfeeding and in patients with active liver disease or hypersensitivity to pitavastatin or other statins.
