ASIRAX 250 mg I.V. Infusion (Acyclovir)
VemASIRIAX 250 mg is a sterile lyophilized powder for intravenous infusion containing acyclovir, a synthetic antiviral agent active against herpes viruses. After intravenous administration, acyclovir is converted into its active form within virus-infected cells, where it inhibits viral DNA synthesis and prevents viral replication. It is used for the treatment of severe HSV infections, genital herpes, herpes simplex encephalitis, neonatal herpes, and varicella-zoster (shingles and severe chickenpox), especially in immunocompromised patients or when oral therapy is not appropriate.

Indications
ASIRIAX 250 mg is indicated for: Treatment of Herpes simplex virus (HSV-1 and HSV-2) infections. Severe primary genital herpes. Herpes simplex encephalitis. Neonatal herpes simplex infection. Treatment of Varicella-zoster virus (VZV) infections, including herpes zoster (shingles) and severe chickenpox, particularly in immunocompromised patients. Prevention and treatment of HSV infections in immunocompromised patients.
Precautions
Administer only by intravenous infusion under medical supervision. Ensure adequate hydration during treatment to reduce the risk of kidney toxicity. Use with caution in patients with renal impairment; dose adjustment may be required. Monitor renal function and neurological status during therapy, especially in elderly patients. Use cautiously during pregnancy and breastfeeding, only if the expected benefit outweighs the potential risk. Discontinue treatment and seek medical attention if signs of hypersensitivity or severe adverse reactions occur. Avoid rapid intravenous injection, as it may increase the risk of renal and neurological adverse effects.
