VOMEPRAM 10 mg/2 mL Injection (Metoclopramide)
VemVOMEPRAM contains metoclopramide hydrochloride, a dopamine (D2) receptor antagonist that acts centrally by inhibiting the chemoreceptor trigger zone (CTZ) to prevent nausea and vomiting. It also enhances upper gastrointestinal motility by increasing gastric emptying and promoting coordinated gastric and intestinal contractions without stimulating gastric acid secretion. It is administered by intravenous (IV) or intramuscular (IM) injection and is commonly used to manage postoperative nausea and vomiting, chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (in combination with other agents), migraine-associated nausea, and delayed gastric emptying (gastroparesis).

Indications
VOMEPRAM is indicated for: Prevention and treatment of nausea and vomiting. Postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV). Chemotherapy-induced and radiotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting. Nausea and vomiting associated with acute migraine. Diabetic gastroparesis and other disorders associated with delayed gastric emptying. Facilitation of gastrointestinal intubation and certain radiological procedures by promoting gastric emptying.
Precautions
For IV or IM administration only under healthcare professional supervision. Contraindicated in patients with gastrointestinal obstruction, perforation, or hemorrhage, pheochromocytoma, epilepsy, or a history of tardive dyskinesia caused by metoclopramide. Treatment duration should generally not exceed 5 days due to the risk of extrapyramidal symptoms and tardive dyskinesia. Use with caution in elderly patients, children, and patients with renal or hepatic impairment; dose adjustment may be required. May cause drowsiness, dizziness, and impaired mental alertness; patients should avoid driving or operating machinery if affected. Use cautiously with other medications that affect the central nervous system or dopamine pathways. Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding only if the expected benefit outweighs the potential risk.
