ONDAREN 8 mg/4 mL Injection (Ondansetron)
VemONDAREN contains ondansetron hydrochloride, a selective 5-hydroxytryptamine-3 (5-HT3) receptor antagonist. It works by blocking serotonin receptors located in the gastrointestinal tract and the central nervous system, preventing the initiation of the vomiting reflex. It is administered by intravenous (IV) or intramuscular (IM) injection and is widely used to prevent and treat chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV), radiotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (RINV), and postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV).

Indications
ONDAREN is indicated for: Prevention and treatment of chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV). Prevention and treatment of radiotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (RINV). Prevention and treatment of postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV). Control of nausea and vomiting associated with medical illnesses, when clinically indicated.
Precautions
Administer by intravenous (IV) or intramuscular (IM) injection under healthcare professional supervision. Use with caution in patients with congenital long QT syndrome, electrolyte abnormalities, or other conditions that increase the risk of QT interval prolongation. Monitor patients receiving other QT-prolonging medications or antiarrhythmic drugs. Use cautiously in patients with hepatic impairment; dose adjustment may be required in severe liver disease. Ondansetron may increase the risk of serotonin syndrome when used with serotonergic medications such as SSRIs or SNRIs. Monitor for hypersensitivity reactions, especially in patients with a history of allergy to other 5-HT3 receptor antagonists. Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding only when the expected benefit outweighs the potential risk.
